Sometimes as you read the news you see two articles that don’t appear to have anything to do with one another, yet really seem to click together.
So it was today as I was scanning my favorite news sites to find out what’s being talked about. Obviously, the news coming out of North Korea was front and center. Six missiles, including one with inter-continental capabilities, were launched. Luckily, all failed including the Taepodong-2 missile which would have the potential to hit the U.S. mainland. This is especially disturbing since last February it had declared North Korea was now a nuclear state.
For quite some time now individuals on the other side of the aisle, as well as members of our international community have encouraged the Administration to take Kim Jong-il's threats seriously. Now, they finally may be forced to do so.
Not long after reading this I came upon a listing of the gifts that President Bush had received for his birthday. One gift in particular caught my eye – a copy of The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Guide from the Sultan of Brunei.
For the rest of us, this would be a clear signal to “put your head between your knees and kiss your bum goodbye”, but we are talking about George W. Bush, the most powerful man on Earth.
Maybe he should have sent the pop-up edition.
