Why rEvolution Needs Messiah Complexity
Messiah
Written by MN
Tuesday, 01 January 2008

As evident in our new site logo, and beginning in this first day of the new year, 2008, we will be taking a sharp turn and channeling efforts into a more explicit direction than we've known here in the recent past. So, before some of us out there begin faltering in dismay over this, let's all try to remember that I am well aware of what it is I am doing with it, and have been aware of it since I began doing it... if not even before that.

Though it is intrinsically unnecessary to explain the timing and cause of this change, I would like to say that the perception in the comics industry of my role-playing tendencies, pertaining to the notion of a Messiah, are not entirely my own at all. Whether through public statements from the likes of popular industry journalist, Rich Johnston, or a premiere comics creator such as Bryan Talbot (both statements, amongst many others, which can be seen through the Quotes link at the left side Module menu), or even countless other fans and commentators in the comics web community, this perception, which inadvertently or by greater design, has adhered to my reputation like red on blood, resides within everyone else who entertains the notion, perhaps even more so than it does within myself. Which is not to say that I either corroborate or deny the implications it holds.

Suffice it to say that the time has come to sharpen the message and thrust of the activity here and to become more forthright in stating our objectives. For those who've followed my web site productions since The New Comic Book of Life, which was far more direct in its approach than the sites which followed and became progressively more "consensus friendly" with The Comic Book Creator's Party, The Comic Book Creators' Guild, Flaming Sword Productions, Rabble-Rouser, Growing Earth Consortium and rEvolution... Messiah Complexity is intended to shatter the relative complacency we've allowed ourselves to wade through during this progression. It is a necessary result of everything that's preceded it, because this has been the underlying intention and stated purpose of rEvolution, and all that we aspire to accomplish through it. Without Messiah Complexity, nothing that we've done before would hold a meaningful enough purpose to have justified the effort that has been placed into it.

A few articles will follow this post in order to re-affirm the foundation we stand upon. The comics, pop-culture, politics, religion, science and the economy, among other pertinent subjects, will all be addressed here in upcoming content, within the context of Messiah Complexity.

So hang in for the ride, keep an open eye and attentive ear on what's being said here... and by all means, do have your say in the comments threads, our main venue for the voice of the people to be heard.

And please do help spread the word. Talking it up remains the most effective tool we collectively possess on this journey.
