The primary valid proof we have that the Earth's surface is growing is that the seas are receding. Once we can show how the seas have been deserting the land for millions of years, there is no way out of acceptance. All ancient civilizations evolved first in high mountain regions of the world. Why? After that they moved steadily downward following the receding seas.
Nineveh is in Mesopotamia and historians tell us that it is the oldest city in Assyria. What they dont tell us is that was the first city and the oldest in all Mesopotamia because every other city coming down the Tigris and Euphrates valleys are younger than Nineveh in descending order. In other words the cities were established one after the other in a downward progression.
Remember Mesopotamia is called the Cradle of Civilization. So you can see the ancient shorelines there rising higher and higher. Ur of the Chaldees was a seaport in the time of Abraham. Today it is 200 miles from the sea and 135 feet above sea level. The same for Baghdad. That was once on the gulf and is now 350 miles from the sea and 125 feet above sea level. Today Nineveh is 1000 miles from the sea yet Jonah the prophet , swallowed by the Whale fame, lived there and was buried there. Jonah did not walk 1000 miles to be swallowed by a Whale the sea was proximate to Nineveh at that time.
We can see the successive shorelines also in Italy. Ostia is now 3 miles from the sea yet in the time of the Punic War it was the port for Rome and sat at the mouth of the Tiber. So the point I make with all this is that receding seas and the supporting evidence of photogeology showing the ancient shorelines is compelling proof of Earth growth. |
